1,152 participants watched the online program Road to WinDays live

Participants were able to watch 3 lectures and a round table. Another Road to WinDays in early September topics will announce a live conference

The first Road to WinDays online program was watched live by 1,152 participants, and brought three lectures and a roundtable on the topic of the event industry. The program was broadcast from WinDays studios in Zagreb's Mozaik Event Center. Participants were able to follow it via a live stream on Facebook and YouTube and ask questions to lecturers and panelists, and the video can be viewed later. The second Road to WinDays will take place in early September and introduce participants to live conference topics.

The thematically current program dealt with the "durability" of IT systems, security in the situation of working from home and artificial intelligence, and ended with a panel discussion on the future of the event industry. Ilija Ranogajec (Span) explained how IT systems survived the lockdown. When asked by participants if IT systems were ready for a coronary crisis, he replied that they were, but that Internet providers were not ready for the amount of traffic we generated from home. Igor Pavleković (Microsoft) warned about the most common types of security attacks and advised how to recognize them and protect yourself. He pointed out that statistically, out of a million emails processed by Microsoft, 60,000 contained malicious code related to COVID-19, and during March, the total number of messages with content on the subject of COVID increased by 84%. To work securely from home, companies need to provide access to applications remotely, manage devices and applications, and protect corporate resources. Filip Glavota dealt with artificial intelligence from the perspective of an "ordinary mortal". He cited several interesting examples of the application of artificial intelligence: OpenAI "trained" a robotic arm to learn how to compose a Rubik's cube and generated a model that could compose text on its own (after "learning" to write based on 8 million texts).

On the panel Physical, hybrid and virtual events - what is the future of the event industry, Tomislav Tipurić (Nephos) moderated a conversation in which Ivan Burazin (Shift Conference), Željko Krizmanić (Eventa01), Tea Krpan (Mozaik group) and Igor Pavleković participated. ). They commented that virtual events posed a number of challenges to organizers and required a number of adjustments, and globally the key question is how to monetize them. Virtual events lack human contact and socializing, and the content is consumed in a different way, so there is a lot of room to devise new approaches that will try to compensate for these shortcomings and allow more interaction and engagement of participants. They ended in a positive tone, concluding that every crisis encourages us to reconsider and devise new ways of working, so maybe some Croatian company will make software for events that everyone lacks in their work.

During the first edition of Road to WinDays, it was announced that the nominations for WinDays20 powered by Microsoft would be reopened in order to bring fresh and up-to-date content to the participants in the fall. In addition to the "classic" nominations for the Technology Conference, which will last until August 10, nominations for Business will be opened for the first time, so all those who have a successful project or story will have the opportunity to nominate it and, if it enters the program, tell the conference participants. .

Since it is impossible to predict the public health situation in September, the organizer has decided that, if it is not possible to organize a live gathering, the conference will be held in full online, with all planned program directions and more than 100 lectures, which means that it will certainly be held from September 28 to October 1, 2020. Whether the conference is held live or online, with the help of the new registration fee for the virtual conference it will be possible to follow the live stream of all lectures.
